Weber Digital Label Coordinator
In terms of label printing technology, digital is relatively new to the party. We installed our first digital label press (an HP Indigo ws4500) back in the fall of 2008, and followed with a second unit (HP WS6000) in late 2010.
Digital hasn’t replaced our more traditional flexographic method of printing colorful prime labels, but it has added another dimension to our printing capabilities.
In order to clarify exactly what digital label printing can provide, this HP primer illustrates it well. The information also touches on digital printing for packaging and, while Weber is now focused on labels, you never know what the future will bring.
